- Slap Shot (1977) is the classic hockey movie starring Paul Newman and the infamous Hanson Brothers. This movie should be in any hockey fan's movie library.
- Mystery, Alaska (1999) features Russell Crowe in this comedy in which Hank Azaria wants to bring the New York Rangers to play against the locals in a game of real pond-ice hockey.
- Sudden Death (1995), with Jean Claude Van Damme trying to stop terrorists during a Pittsburg Penguins game. Guns and hockey. What could be better?
- The Mighty Ducks (1992) in which Emilio Estevez teaches a group of misfit kids how to play hockey and become a team.
- Miracle (2004) is the story of the 1980 Olympics U.S. men's hockey team. Kurt Russell stars as coach Herb Brooks.
- Youngblood (1986) with Rob Lowe and Patrick Swayze starring in this movie about a young skilled hockey player who needs to prove he's tough enough to make it in the Canadien junior hockey league.
- Happy Gilmore(1996) starring Adam Sandler as an overzealous hockey player who can't skate, but does have one mean slap shot. See the comedy that ensues when this foul-mouth, tough wanna-be hockey player joins the PGA tour.
