Hurricanes Clinch Southeast Division

With a 3-2 win over the Florida Panthers, the Carolina Hurricanes clinched the Southeast Division title tonight. The win also put them within three points of the Eastern Conference leaders, the Ottawa Senators. Ray Whitney got his 15th goal of the season to tie the game at 19:18 of the first period, and the Hurricanes took the lead when Mark Recchi scored his 26th goal of the season at 3:31 of the second period. Craig Adams got the game winner less than two minutes into the 3rd period with a short-handed goal. Mike Van Ryn and Chris Gratton scored for the Panthers.
